Treehouse TeacherYou need to call findViewById from inside the onCreate method.
Try this:
public class MainActivity extends Activity {
Button mExterminateButton;
@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
mExterminateButton = (Button) findViewById(R.id.button1);
// Declare our view variables
}
}
