Design

Simple wireframing app for Mac? Accepting both free and paid apps.

Need something easy to use and simple, since I am still at the beginning stages of web development.

Need something where I can organize the design layouts for my webpages before actually creating the basic HTML/CSS.

I see they have Adobe CC, but I don't think I should be paying $$ per month for extra services, especially when I can't use the to their full potential.

btw I'm using the latest Macbook Pro (mid 2015), if that helps.

After a long time of using Photoshop for my wireframes, I switched to the recently released Adobe Experience Design (Xd) which is currently in open beta and free.

Why I like Xd:

  • easy to use interface (reduced to minimum)
  • limited possibilities (based on what you can code with CSS)
  • rapid design (repeat grids etc.)
  • prototyping mode with built in animations
  • ready to use UI Kits (iOS, Android and Windows)

  • share design preview links with clients (Adobe ID required)

I recommend to watch the introduction video to get a better idea of all the features.

thanks david!
