I am stuck - do not know the answer.
Also not clear if they want the text black or the background black.

Courses Plus Student 9,236 PointsI believe they mean the text within the paragraphs. The CSS has the color property for setting the colour of your text within an element.
So you will need to create a CSS selector for the paragraph or <p> tag like this:
p {
}
Now for this p selector, apply the color property
p {
color: #000;
}
I can see you've got it under the body selector, so just create the p tag as above and move that from the body to the p selector. Also, don't forget that semicolon! :)
