2,292 Pointsselecting class .contact-info, question on syntax
On stage 7 in adding pages to a website the quiz asks to add the class for contact info with the unordered list, I understand the class selection but why does it not have a ( ul or li) element next to it?
my first answer was .contact-info ul , at the beginning but it was wrong( the rest of the code was the same) am I just getting confused by the way the question was asked? Please clarify.

25,869 PointsHi Juan,
It's asking for you to Select the unordered list with the class contact-info...
-
.contact-info ul
(as you tried first) would select all unordered lists which have a parent of contact-info. -
ul.contact-info
will select the unordered list with a class of contact-info as the question mentions. -
.contact-info
will also work but is not specific to unordered lists. This will select any element with a class of contact-info.
Hope that helps explain it.

19,579 PointsHi Juan,
I don't know the html your working with but my guess is, if this is the html:
<ul class="contact-info">
Then the reason you don't need to add ul
is because the class contact-info
is really replacing the ul
tag in your code, if that makes sense.
Hope this helps.
