Seeking a web design student interested in collaborating on some portfolio-worthy projects!

This is a post that is a bit out of the ordinary. I am an aspiring PHP back-end developer interested in creating dynamic web apps. I have a lot of familiarity with CSS and Bootstrap, but I don't have an artistic bone in my body. I like to focus on function rather than form. At the same time, I enjoy working with others rather than alone, and I think it would be cool to collaborate with someone with a very different skill set to create some cool things that both of us can show to potential employers and clients (while giving the other full credit for their role, of course).

If you are a student of web design and you're interested in working with a student of software development to create some cool (and potentially useful) apps and you have experience with, or are willing to learn, to use Git and Github, reply to this message and we can connect on social media (Twitter or something) and find out if we would be a good fit. I have several project ideas, but I am also looking for the ideas of others too.

Hey, Michael are you and Lia still looking to collaborate? I'm currently looking to grow my experience with project like this. Please let me know thank you.

Hey Sammy. I am always on the lookout for people interested in collaborative work where different skillsets come together. I have finished all the PHP tracks and I am about to start the Fullstack JS techdegree, but I would still be willing to collaborate on a project. As my post says, my programming skills are very adequate but I dont have a single artistic bone in my body so many of my ideas are hard to produce without someone with a complimentary skillset. If you want to discuss some project ideas maybe we could link up on Twitter or some other social media platform? Let me know!

Sammy Alvarado Still haven't heard from you. Do you want to move forward on discussing projects?

Hey, Michael sorry I've been traveling for the holidays and haven’t checked my messaged my apologies. If you have something in mind I'm all game. I'm still in the learning process but would love to learn along the way with projects let me know if you want to connect via twitter?

Sammy Alvarado Absolutely. Find my on twitter @iizcatarrhine. I have some ideas I'm willing to discuss, including some that could benefit from getting one or two more people involved as well.

I am a UX Design Techdegree graduate (as of last week). I would love to add some projects to my portfolio. I have a rudimentary knowledge of how to use Github. I did the web design track, so I understand how it goes, but it didn’t really make me more artistic and creative. I think it would be great if we could get another person who is truly creative and artistic though. I’m more about how to put together a site or app so it is really useable. If you are the general contractor, then I am the architect. We still might need an interior designer though. 😊

Hey Lia, first of all, congrats on finishing the Techdegree! Second of all, I don't think you need to be really artistic per se, just have the ability to envision an attractive, and usable design. I have a basic (and quickly growing) understanding of software design and how to build out a back-end so that the app actually does what it is supposed to do, but my front-end designs look only a little better than a toddler's drawings. As for Github, your ability with it only needs to be basic. If we worked together, we would just be using it as a central repo.

If you want to connect outside of Treehouse, my Github and Twitter are linked in my profile.
