Hey! I'm having the same problem as a few others have had here. I've placed my environment into the hierarchy and everything appears, however, the rocks and logs aren't completely visible? They are in the props folder and I can click on an object through the folder and I can then see where it is and so on, but the colour and texture etc is not there. It looks as if everything is upside down or reversed. And also, there are no green boxes in the scene.
I've looked through all posts regarding this here, but nothing works. I've followed the video completely. Does anyone know what's wrong?
This is what it looks like: http://imgur.com/a/82oeC

1,973 PointsIt's a great course! The view just isn't working as it should.

57,712 PointsI'm downloading Unity now ... I was between tracks, so this will be a nice little interlude.
Pauliina K
1,973 PointsNice! Have you done any game programming before?
Steve Hunter
57,712 PointsYears & years ago, I used to model maps for Unreal Tournament and develop skins and themes for it. That was a long while ago - I don't think C# even existed then; it was all done in C++.
Pauliina K
1,973 PointsAh, cool! I'm gonna dive into C# before I get into C++ as it's so much harder. The goal is to be able to write games in C++ in the future, in either Unity or Unreal. My fiancé is a game artist (environment artist mainly) and I used to do 3D and animation, but it's too illogical (design stuff you know), whereas coding is concrete and makes sense. And I've always loved gaming, so I think game programming will fit me like a glove.

57,712 PointsSimilar for me. I prefered messing with physics engines rather than getting into the look of scenes; I'm not artistic at all! I helped out on a few projects, some of which got some huge success, but I don't see my future being in games however cool they look!
The Unreal engine was awesome - I am sure it has developed still further since I last saw it. I think the last stuff I tinkered with was the 2003 version, after the GOTYE had been released. Don't really remember; long time ago!
Pauliina K
1,973 PointsHaha, yeah. Unreal is great!
I just hope someone can find out what's wrong with my scene in Unity, because I wanna code!!

57,712 PointsIt'll take me ages to catch up - the download alone will take 2 hours here. The downside of rural living is mega-slow broadband.

1,973 PointsHahah, I feel so stupid now, but that was the problem. Thanks!

Courses Plus Student 12,188 PointsThere is a new course at Treehouse Unity Basics Go for it and then continue with the frog.
The title probably is not correct with the subject.
Pauliina K
1,973 PointsThere's no need for that. I finished the game over a week ago and have programmed a few smaller games after that. So I don't need the basics of Unity as I already know them. Thanks anyway.
