Scaling Images for all phone screen sizes

I had a friend make mock-up designs for several activities of the app I had in mind. He used photo shop and was able to provide me with the PNG image files within his mock-ups which I plan on using in my app.

My question is how should I scale these PNG files to fit multiple phone screen sizes.

What I had in mind was that I would use the images he provided for me as the xhdpi images and then use this site (http://density.brdrck.me/) to figure out what the mdpi and hdpi image sizes should be. Then I would use an image re-sizer to scale the original file down to the respective file sizes.

As an example, lets say one of the files he sent me is (826 x 159 px), I would then use the site (http://density.brdrck.me/) which would tell me that the respective hdpi and mdpi sizes are, (620 x 120) and (413 x 80). I would then use a site to re-size the original (826 x 159) to (620 x 120) and (413 x80).

Will this Work, is it necessary, should I just use the the original image file and let android studios do the re-scaling?

Thanks
