I am using a Chromebook as of the moment and I have no alternative computer to continue this course as of the moment. Is there a viable alternative for JDK and JRE for use on Chromebooks? thanks

I just did, and it turned out, that installing JDK on Chromebook is pain in the neck ...
I don't have one, and now you gave me the reason never buy one :)
But If I had one I would've used suggestions from Google:
I. Install crouton
:

- https://github.com/dnschneid/crouton
II. Install JDK
using crouton
There also tons of video on YouTube, if you'll have encounter problems along the way...
Good Luck!
I Will never ever buy Chromebook ... Google just disappointed me really hard for the first time ...

3,549 PointsYou're right apart from basic word processing and surfing the web Chromebooks are largely insufficient. Anyway, I just had this as a loaner since my 3 year old Mac failed on me. Will try to walk through on the links you provided I may find a work around otherwise I'll just switch to another track in the mean time til I get a new Mac. Thanks a bunch
