Did you select the Ruby On Rails track? Because that track includes HTML, CSS, and Javascript. If you want to jump right into Ruby On Rails, check out the Library http://teamtreehouse.com/library/topic:ruby/sort:difficulty

The course "How to Make a Website" is HTML, not Ruby on Rails. The Ruby on Rails courses can be found by using the search filter of Ruby on the library page. I recommend you stick with that course first, though, as you will need a basic understanding of HTML and CSS before you start.
