Resizing logo for my website

I have to downsize my logo to fit on my website. However when I try this it become slightly clearing and less defined. Any idea why this is happening?

The method used for downsizing might make a difference, can you show the actual code?

Also, can you describe what you mean by "slightly clearing"?

Hello, Matthew,

Well, there's too little info here...

slightly clearing and less defined

Just curious:

  • Is your logo simple, or does it show a lot of detail?
  • Is your website a responsive design?
  • Is your logo a png? jpg? jpeg? gif? svg?
  • Are you using Photoshop? Google Drawings? Inkscape? Gravit?

I'm guessing you might want to Lock the aspect ratio before manipulation of your logo. After some experience, I make a few copies of the original image, and use the copies for various experiments until the image is measured exactly as needed.

Hope that helps!

Hey thanks for the reply. I meant 'slightly less clear' not 'clearing'.

The logo is png. The design is quite simple. I use bigcommerce for the website. I used photoshop

Thanks Matt

Hi, Matthew,

Okay. Thanks for the info!

If you're not still struggling with the logo, did you lock the aspect ratio before resizing? (For those who didn't already know, the lock guarantees undistorted images.)
