Remove image back ground for image in illustrator cc

I want to remove white background for a png image in illustrator cc.any one of you ,can you please let me know how to do it?

The only way I know to do this is in Photoshop, resave the image, then switch back to Illustrator and it will say something like "this file has been modified, do you wish to update it", then click yes.

gopi p - Yes Agree with Mike, i faced the same issue with illustrator but solved it with photoshop using the magic wand.
