Hi, Hi, my name is Tim, I’m in charge of web development department at ikea, me n my team decided to see what treehouse has to offer. Recently I got charged without any notice for $199.00. I’m planning to raise the question in court. Has anyone faced a similar issue?

Front End Web Development Techdegree Student 33,900 PointsIn many years I only once had a problem with the billing and it was directly solved by the support team after I contacted them.
Just contact the support team and you will usually be helped very shortly afterwards. They are very quick, friendly and helpful.

I suppose you started a Techdegree 7-day trial?
In doing so you agree to the terms that tell you that if YOU do not cancel the subscription within those 7 days they will automatically charge you for the subscription (Which for a Techdegree is 199$/month).
Treehouse has a great support team though, and if you contact them they will most likely help you.
A friendly reminder is to read the terms when signing up for things, that way you won't have to contact support in the first place. Raising the problem in court would lead to them finding the same solution: you were told about being charged at the end of the trial unless it was canceled when you signed up. This is a common practice among subscription-based companies like Treehouse, Netflix etc and is not illegal. I realize I might come off as harsh, but that's not the point. My point is that you might need to be more careful when signing up for things.
Anyways, contact the support team and they will most likely help you out.
Good luck, Jonas

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 1,391 PointsI should’ve been notified prior to the charge and I wasn’t.

Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 56,488 PointsNo, they shouldn't have notified you before the charge. There's no law enforcing that.
Good luck

Front End Web Development Techdegree Student 33,900 PointsYou are informed when you register for the techdegree...
But why don't you just contact the support?
I don't get it what you are complaining about. The terms are completely normal and obvious when you register.

3,194 PointsHello,
Just adding in that teamtreehouse, in my opinion, has been worth every penny. Next time, please read the statement notifying you that you will be charged if you do not cancel before your trial is up. It is the reason they have you provide billing information.
Happy coding!
