Referencing Work Space During Quiz

At this point of learning (ie: very much a newbie) is it common to reference the work space during the quizzes? I take my time and really try to grasp the material WHILE I'm referencing the workspace. However, I wasn't sure if the course was intending for us to NOT reference the workspace at all. In other words, are we supposed to have the material that was covered memorized 100% before moving onto the next topic?

I think it's fine to use your workspace as an "open book" reference while taking the quizzes as long as you are understanding what you are doing. I think it would be very difficult to memorize everything and be able to pass the tests without a reference. While I'm immersed in a course I use my text editor to follow along with the instructors and use it to refer to when taking quizzes.

I thinking referring back to a workspace or any notes is encouraged. Learning to code is a repetitive task, so the more code you often see the better.

One of the most important things you can do is use examples to starting coding something of your own. That usually provides the best way to retain something. Also, helping others in the forum with issues you've come across, or just interacting will help as well.

So yes, I think it's completely normal; however, I'd try to recall the answer on your own before looking.

Don't worry about getting something down 100%. This will make things less attractive for you, and you'll soon forget it without more complete use anyhow.
