I'm just getting into coding and its so far been not so bad with the turning-the-head-inside-out. However, I only get to work on it maybe 2 hours a day during the week due to my job. And right now we are DEAD. I only have my phone, so I can't really do any tracks here, so I'm looking for good books or blogs for beginners.
I'm talking languages (ideally Ruby and/or JavaScript, but I'll take whatever you've got), job search tips, industry information, CS history, anything even tangentially related, I'm in. Save me from death by boredom!

12,719 PointsA Book Apart is a great series of books based around coding if you end up wanting to get involved with web development. If you're wanting to stick to more JavaScript, Eloquent JavaScript is a good book. They even have an online JavaScript environment that you can do the exercises on. I believe there is a free pdf online of it as well somewhere!

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 13,573 PointsThe library is an excellent idea! I'll just have to remember not to highlight in books that aren't mine, lol.

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 13,573 PointsAwesome! Thanks a lot! I found and downloaded the pdf of the JavaScript book, and I don't think my library has A Book Apart, so I'll work on sourcing that. Thanks again!
