Ran git init on home directory

I accidently ran "git init" on the home directory without specifying any folder and now when I run "git status" I can see all the folders in the computer under "untracked files". I would like to undo this but I dont want to loose anything on my computer, how do I do that?

If you just inited it, you can just delete .git. Typically:

rm -rf .git

Try git reset on the same directory

This should make sure that any staged files in the repo should be unstaged and files unaffected.

Then just make a new directory and do git init in that directory. :-)
