Python basics - try, except, and else

Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

def add (x, y):
  try:
  x = float (x)
  y = float (y)
  except ValueError:
    return None
  else:
    z = x + y
  return z

Hi, your code is actually ok, only thing is that you need to fix the indentation on the line 3 & 4.

def add (x, y):
  try:
    x = float (x)  # fixed indentation
    y = float (y)  # fixed indentation
  except ValueError:
    return None
  else:
    z = x + y
  return z

Now the code should work properly
