Professional Advice!

I will be taking the Microsoft 70-480 certification exam really soon, and I need some professional advice.

I have a pretty solid foundation on JavaScript. However, the exam includes much much more than just that. I have solid CSS and HTML knowledge too, but I would truly appreciate it if anyone could point me towards some good study material for the exam. In addition, I would love it if you gave me your opinion on further certification exams.... Which other exam should I take? Is the Microsoft 70-480 certification exam not a good choice? If so, what is?

Off the top of my head I have no idea what the "70-480" exam is, and my bet is that most other people on here don't either. What I do know is that Microsoft itself provides study guides to give an idea of how to study for their exams.

However, I would say that the general philosophy you will find on Treehouse is one of actually doing and creating, rather than absorbing information for an exam. A certification says you passed a test. A portfolio actually shows employers what you are able to do. If you want to be an IT technician or help desk support, or get into networking then by all means get certifications, but I haven't really ever heard of anyone getting a developer job by getting a MS cert. My professional advice would be to stop studying for exams and start building some projects to show off to potential employers.
