1,517 PointsProblems passing Python Basics even_odd challenge - code works as expected in workspace
I can run the attached code fine in the workspace. The while loop runs 5 times and prints out the random number along with whether it is even or odd. However, the Challenge interface just gives me "Bummer, Try again" when I select the "Recheck work" button.
Any idea what I'm missing?
import random
start = 5
def even_odd(num):
# If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
# Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
return not num % 2
while start:
num = random.randint(1,99)
if even_odd(num):
print("{} is even.".format(num))
else:
print("{} is odd.".format(num))
start = start - 1

71,830 PointsTessa, just remove the periods after odd and even. The editor doesn't like them!

71,830 PointsYes it does. The editor can be very picky!

1,517 PointsSeems silly that it would make that quibble but you were right. I took out the periods and the challenge interface passed me. W00t!
