Python

Print statements with variables

When calling the print() function and adding variables, there seems to be two ways to do it:

  1. print(f"{index}. {item}")

  2. print("{}. {}".format(index, item))

Both work. Number 1 is shorter but number 2 is clearer. Is one preferable over the other?
