Courses Plus Student 31 PointsPls. "+1" if you'd like to see an advanced Treehouse course on Markdown!
I was thinking of using Markdown for more than just posting on your forums, like producing advanced texts, such as writing a novel or academic papers - for which Markdown is certainly capable of.
"The" book on Markdown is THE MACSPARKY MARKDOWN FIELD GUIDE BY DAVID SPARKS AND EDDIE SMITH (sorry, I copy-pasted the bold), endorsed by David Gruber himself, the creator of Markdown.
Strangely , David Sparks' book is only available in Apple iBooks, or alternatively, if you are not in the Apple ecosystem, you can download and print it like a second class citizen as PDF (killing trees and kittens in the process), like it was still 1999. David does not sell his Markdown ebook on Amazon and places where books are sold in general, but he sells his other book, strangely.
Conclusion: it is just better to have a proper Treehouse course on the subject. Thanks

I do kind of agree with you. If you look around, there are examples of lightweight content management systems and frameworks that use Markdown parsing instead of text editing/word processing controls. https://github.com/search?o=desc&q=markdown&s=stars&type=Repositories
Also, some blogging platforms will allow you to write Markdown to format posts, including WordPress.
Oh and regarding the PDF, if you use Amazon Kindle (the service, not the eBook reader devices specifically), you should be able to upload or email a PDF to a particular address (in your settings somewhere) and then read it from either a Kindle device or one of the Kindle apps.
