2,292 Pointsfirst, where it says /* uncomment this when i...... / delete the / */ around the code, and it will be part of the code after that. until then, it is not affecting your code. and then... in Constructor Method Topic() change it to //for these reasons
//put your [this.topic=topic] to
String topic; //I need a String named topic for future use.
public Topic(String topic) { //a constructor is the first method that shows what the class accepts from
//other classes when used elsewhere in the program.
this.topic = topic; //the content inside topic (Topic(String topic <-----)) is put into
} //the variable made earlier for future use outside of this method names topic
//{ } creates a scope that means you can create variable inside it that wont be affecting
//the rest of the code around it, hence why we are able to keep it the same name. even
//though they are two totally separate variables of memory

Courses Plus Student 5,098 PointsHi, at your Forum.java your constructor is missing a public infront of Forum ----> public Forum (String topic){ this.topic=topic; }
Daniel Szepanski
Courses Plus Student 5,098 PointsAnd you have to uncomment:
/* Uncomment this when you are prompted to do so
public void addPost(ForumPost post) {
System.out.printf("A new post in %s topic from %s %s about %s is available",
topic,
post.getAuthor().getFirstName(),
post.getAuthor().getLastName(),
post.getTitle()
);
}
*/

Front End Web Development Techdegree Student 4,755 PointsStill not going through...what do you mean by uncomment?
public class Main{
public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Beginning forum example"); if (args.length < 2) { System.out.println("Usage: java Main <first name> <last name>"); System.err.println("<first name> and <last name> are required"); System.exit(1); }
Forum forum = new Forum("Java");
// TODO: pass in the first name and last name that are in the args parameter
User author = new User(args[0], args[1]);
// TODO: initialize the forum post with the user created above and a title and description of your choice
ForumPost post = new ForumPost(author, "x", "X");
forum.addPost(post);
}
}
