We discussed earlier that the service should do its work on a thread so that the main thread is not overloaded. But here, PlayerService does not create any thread. Is it because the MediaPlayer is taking care of creating threads internally?

56,413 PointsEssentially, yes the system's MediaPlayer object is taking care of that work for us. The only thing the service needs to do is call the the play/pause commands on the MediaPlayer which shouldn't hang up the main thread.
