Once I dragged the frog object the hierarchy, it was placed way above the ground near the camera preview. When I adjust it to have the frog near the ground, the camera scene then sees the player further away.

4,809 PointsYou may not have changed the right value. If the player is a child of the camera or another game object, and this game object isn't facing directly down, the transform component uses local space, the position of the object relative to its parent. Consider this when adjusting the position of your player.
