placing curly braces

what is a good practice for spacing curly braces? Also, is there a keyboard short cut i should use or should i just keep hitting enter and tab?

This is a highly preferential subject, but the large majority of professionals, in my opinion, will ascribe to a curly brace per line philosophy. This allows you to see clearly where a block of code begins and ends. The tabbing should also be consistent, meaning an opening curly brace is equally spaced from the left margin as a closing curly brace. Hope this helps!
