PHP or Node?

Hi, I have been on the web design track. About to finish it. I want to work as a wordpress developer, but i keep reading everywhere that php is going down and Node.js has the future (I have a basic understanding of PHP, JavaScript and jQuery). Also ive noticed only one or two courses related to Laravel on treehouse but several related to angular, react, rails etc. So basically my question is, whether i should learn Node.js or further my knowledge in PHP. Also if just a basic understanding of PHP is enough for wordpress development. Thanks in advance :D.

I don't understand why people say PHP is dying, because it really isn't, not where I live anyway. Node is relatively easy to pick up if you know JavaScript. Both PHP and Node have pros and cons, a quick google search will show you what I mean.

All that being said, if you want to be a WordPress Developer then PHP is 100% the way to go. But don't just learn the basics and then stop, keep learning.

Thanks... the reason i asled is because when i google search most of the articles are saying tht PHP is dying.
