Photoshop software for Front End Development

Hi Guys, i am currently doing the front end development track. In order to create attractive web pages i would need some sort of photo shop application. Please advise which one of the following is the best for use : 1)Photoshop CC 2)Illustrator 3)After Effects

You will be using adobe photoshop. It's the easiest out of all of them. Illustrator is bit harder but you can create vector graphics on it. after affects is just for video animation.

If your good with all three programs you can probably get a job as animator instead of developer.

Thank you for your quick response jason. At this stage i am not familiar with any of these software. I feel by just learning HTML, CSS and Javascript i wont be able to create attractive and good design web pages therefore i would need to learn some web designing too.

Yeah it's called wireframe.

The web design track teaches that.

Hey Mani,

As a designer & developer, I bounce back and forth between Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator. It depends on the project at hand and what assets that I need. If I'm working with normal image assets, Photoshop is fine. However, if I need to modify and easily export scalable vector graphics, Illustrator is more appropriate.

A good in-between program to checkout is Sketch.

Best,

Jacob

Thanks jacob, well adobe is not free so i guess i will have to buy monthly subscription. So its a good idea to go for illustrator as it will provide more options for later on ?

I'm going to agree with Jacob Proffer on this one, but I will say that if you work in an team environment you will need to know Illustrator/photoshop cc. the issue really comes down to the cost. to use Adobe you have to pay $50 a month, if you're cool with that, then by all means. Sketch give a nice balance to adobe and at only $100 its a more affordable approach, and you can almost do the same things in sketch as with adobe.
