11,421 PointsPhotoshop CS5 versus CS6
Hello!
I am new to Photoshop and want to take the beginner's course. I noticed it is taught using CS5. Because I have the latest version of Photoshop - CS6 - would I be better off finding a course that teaches CS6?
Thank you, Jennifer

32,861 PointsThere may be some small differences, but overall you should be able to take the CS5 course on CS6. If something comes up while you're taking the tutorial just Google the feature's name followed by "Photoshop CS6" and you should be able to figure out what to do.

6,301 PointsHonestly there will me minimal difference apart from little changes like where the buttons might be but apart from that you wont even notice the difference (aside from graphical changes and optimization)
Try this :-) http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/photoshop/versions.html

33,833 PointsI'm using CS6 last version to come on a disc (now outdated because Adobe is on CC). Its easier to know what you can afford or what your end project will require. Try to get books, videos on your version of Adobe CS6 if you could. The videos on Treehouse do cover a lot of the tools very well.
