You are selecting list items instead of link (a) elements.

put the padding and font-weight rules inside nav a not nav li

oh sorry, that was a typo, i am supposed to be selecting list items. sorry error on my question

sorry the last bit i was now playing around with it to se if i could find something that works. originally i had

margin: 15px 10px;

thats 15px top and bottom and 10 px left and right, why wont my code be accepted?

The code challenge asks you to change the padding in the links not the lists. I just tried it in the nav a rule and passed the test. Your original question was right.

ok, sorry i must have gotten confused somewhere, redone and sorted, thanks

You are styling the nav list-items : nav li, when you should be styling the nav links : nav a
