Java Java Objects Harnessing the Power of Objects Overload Methods

Oops! it looks like Task 1 is no longer passing... Couldn't work through task 2 to pass in a 1 for the default

I keep on having this error message after writing the code for task 2

public void drive(){ drive(1); }

Anything wrong?

GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;
  private int lapsDriven;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }
  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return barCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return MAX_BARS == barCount;
  }

  public void drive(int laps) {
    lapsDriven += laps;
    barCount -= laps;

  }
  public void drive(){
     drive(1);
  }

You seem to have accidentally removed the curly brace } that marks the ending of the GoKart class. If you add one to the last line of your solution like this:

class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;
  private int lapsDriven;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }
  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return barCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return MAX_BARS == barCount;
  }

  public void drive(int laps) {
    lapsDriven += laps;
    barCount -= laps;

  }
  public void drive(){
     drive(1);
  }
} // <-- This was missing.

Then your code will work.

Thank you very much !
