One question about code

Hi, I know the code is correct but I have one question. This might be dumb to ask but how come you need the 0 in System.exit() for the code to work?

Conditional.java 
int numberOfPeople = 3;
if(numberOfPeople < 4)
{
  console.printf("Your table is ready");
  System.exit(0);
}

Hello Timothy,

The reason you need to provide the zero as an argument to the exit method is because it's a required parameter called status that indicates if the exit is normal or abnormal. Here's a link to the documentation but I've included a excerpt from it below.

The argument serves as a status code; by convention, a nonzero status code indicates abnormal termination.
