Obtuse sentence structure hampering understanding - what does it mean?

The most important question of all:

"What is it that the product we are working on provides this behaviour type"

Is there a word missing? provides for this behaviour type ?

Or is the sentence just misconstructed?

Hi Harry, the sentence does seem oddly constructed. However, there doesn't seem to be an error, but I'm sure Treehouse appreciates the input.
