iOS Object-Oriented Swift Complex Data Structures Adding Instance Methods

object Oriented swift 3

Challenge Task 2 of 2

Let's use the struct to create an instance of Person and assign it to a constant named aPerson. Assign any values you want to the first and last name properties.

Once you have an instance, call the instance method and assign the full name to a constant named myFullName.

Bummer! Make sure you're adding an instance method named fullName() to the struct definition

structs.swift

struct Person {

let firstName: String

let lastName: String

ā€‹

func getFullName() -> String {

return "\(firstName) \(lastName)"

}

}

let aPerson = Person(firstName: "Perpetual", lastName: "Makayi")

let fullName = aPerson.getFullName() please can anyone assist me please

structs.swift
struct Person {
    let firstName: String
    let lastName: String

    func getFullName() -> String {
    return "\(firstName) \(lastName)"
  }
}
let aPerson = Person(firstName: "Perpetual", lastName: "Makayi")
let fullName = aPerson.getFullName()

Not sure why you are calling your method "getFullName", but her is how the code should look

struct Person {
    let firstName: String
    let lastName: String

    func fullName() -> String {

        return "\(firstName)" + " " +  "\(lastName)"
    }

}

let aPerson = Person(firstName: "Jeff", lastName: "McDivitt")
let myFullName = aPerson.fullName()

thanks jeff

Hey!

Question: Why did let myFullName become -

let myFullName = aPerson.fullName()

I'm just struggling to conceptualize this? Are we appending "fullName()"

Not sure I'm relaying my question as well as possible, however, maybe someone could help me understand how this would look like if we "output" or elaborate a little bit on it.

Thanks in advance, if anyone has time :)

i wonder too
