JavaScript Asynchronous Programming with JavaScript Asynchronous JavaScript with Callbacks Async Programming and Callback Functions

Not understanding (json)

Why is the parameter of the callback function isn't (data)? Why is it (json)? Or am I wrong in assuming that that's the same argument?

Hi, you can name your parameter name whatever you want, but whatever you name that parameter, it will hold a data that will pass into this function.

As Shumin pointed out, the parameter name itself is not important to the operation of the function. But it's considered a "best practice" to use a name that represents the kind of content that the parameter is expected to have.

So in this case, naming it "json" is a bit more descriptive than just "data" if the contents are going to be in JSON format.
