Not sure why we need the "praise" cue when we run as notifications.py

I am confused about where the code "praise" comes into effect, if essentially we are running it based on the len function? To clarify, I am curious how these work together?

praise = "You are doing amazing"
praise = praise.upper()
number_of_characters = len(praise)
result = praise + "!" * number_of_characters
print (result)

This exercise is simply a product of the creator's imagination, "Now I think there should be at least as many exclamation marks as there are characters in the string, to really grab your attention.". The "len" function just counts the characters to make this happen.
