Not sure why Task 1 becomes no longer correct after I check isFullyCharged() using MAX_BARS variable.

Need help please. Not sure why Task 1 becomes no longer correct after I check isFullyCharged() using MAX_BARS variable.

GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }

  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }
  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return barCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return barCount == 8;
}

hmm, from what i can see your code doesn't really do what the challenge asks you to do.Here is a code example that follows the challenge's instructions and works without a problem :

public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    boolean isEmpty = false;
    if (barCount == 0) {
      isEmpty = true;
    }
    return isEmpty;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    boolean isFull = false;
    if (barCount == MAX_BARS) {
      isFull = true;
   }
    return isFull;
}

Read what the challenge asks you to do inside your code, then re-think what you need to do and if you have any problems check the code above.Hope this helps!

The challenge is asking you to wirte a method that checks if the barCount is empty. If it is empty, return true.

So you will want to write a method that does some checking of the GoKart barCount.

You can use an If Else statement since you want to say true IF empty or ELSE false. It should look something like this:

public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    if (barCount == 0) {
        return true;
        } else {
           return false;
        }
  }
