not recognizing the presence of values[1]

I can't see the problem, Been watching the code for some time now.

It's possible that you might need to specify the culture information for the provided date/time format. See the documentation for this version of the DateTime.TryParse method:

And here's a code snippet showing how to use this method overload:

DateTime dateResult;
string dateString = "03/01/2009 10:00 AM";
CultureInfo culture = CultureInfo.CreateSpecificCulture("en-US");
if (DateTime.TryParse(dateString, culture, DateTimeStyles.None, out dateResult))
{
