Next level: how to have multiple users in options table?

This course shows how to add and hold one user at a time, But what if I want to store multiple users, not just activate and use one at a time?

  1. Would I have to create my own db table to store these, or should/could I still use the options table?

  2. Obviously many of the calls would have to change, but what would the structure look like in the options table, since I'm assuming that is where to put it. Instead of just update_option($array) would I be updating the option field with an object, a multidimensional array? Or would each user be added as it's own option in the table?
