i got the "cannot find symbol" error on the getFragmentManager in this code for some reason. I dont think im understanding this correctly.
public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity
implements NewsFragment.NewsListener {
@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
NewsFragment savedNewsFragment = (NewsFragment) getFragmentManager.findFragmentById(R.id.placeholder);
if(savedNewsFragment == null) {
NewsFragment newsFragment = new NewsFragment();
FragmentManager fragmentManager = getFragmentManager();
FragmentTransaction fragmentTransaction = fragmentManager.beginTransaction();
fragmentTransaction.add(R.id.placeholder, newsFragment);
fragmentTransaction.commit();
}
}
@Override
public void onNewsItemSelected(int index) {
}
}

23,733 PointsHi Tuan - You are very close. The only issue is when you're calling getFragmantManager()
you've forgotten the parenthesis:
NewsFragment savedNewsFragment = (NewsFragment) getFragmentManager().findFragmentById(R.id.placeholder);
