New solution link not defaulting to Git integration

The video shows how one can start a new solution w/i the selected repo, by selecting a certain link within the team explorer. This link isn't defaulting my new solution into a git repo. The window, "New Project" that pops up, only has a "Name" field on the bottom. The video displays an add'l 2, referencing the location. Can somebody help? Maybe I tweaked something ? Thanks!
