I was a bit disappointed after hearing about Director and then following the link only to find that Adobe announced that it was discontinuing Director as of February 1, 2017. Apparently the recommended replacement product is Adobe Animate.

Adobe is apparently beta-testing something new called Experience Design which I don't know much about yet but it sounds like it may be an exciting tool for use in the design process.

I'm very familiar with the development pattern where my involvement starts with being handed some images and instructions to "build this". The group handing off the design might not even be in the same office. In a large company environment it's no easy task to break out of that model. And the expectation often seems to be that with such an explicit visual template the development should be nearly instantaneous. But once the product can be viewed and tested, a reasonably smooth feedback/response loop occurs where what they thought they wanted gets gradually adjusted into something they actually like.
