I'm Ryan Mouser, the Content & Community Marketing Specialist here at Treehouse. My pronouns are he/him. I was 15 years old when I started learning to code in PHP for a popular text-based MMORPG game. I've been with Treehouse for over 2 years now and have had the amazing opportunity to wear many different hats. I've been learning with Treehouse since 2015 (you can check out my previous profile here).
Currently, I'm working alongside our world-class team on some exciting opportunities to bring the Treehouse Community closer together. Stay tuned! 😀
Outside of Treehouse, I have the joy of living life with my incredible wife, our 3 awesome kids, and our 2 cat furbabies. We love to make music, garden, cook, play games, and watch fun TV.
I think everyone struggles with Imposter Syndrome from time-to-time. My family helps me immensely in staying grounded and believing in myself when imposter syndrome strikes. Meditation and mindfulness are key. I am also starting to keep a record of my wins to refer back on. Revisiting successful projects and lessons learned/achieved can also be a huge help! What tools do you use?
You can connect with me on LinkedIn here. Looking forward to connecting with y'all!
Hoping you all stay safe, healthy, and well!

I am Dave Pierce, a web designer/developer entering the tech field. Aside from coding, I love healthy cooking, exercise, and playing guitar. My dream is to move to central Florida from NY and get an electric scooter.
I am currently studying full stack JavaScript on Treehouse and I'm also interested in React and Passport.js outside of the learning track.
Please reach out if you'd like to network or offer feedback on my portfolio.

Ubora | Web Development Techdegree Student 16,987 PointsI'm new to learning JS so I am have a roller coaster of emotions regarding imposter syndrome. One day I'm studying, and I feel that what I'm learning is connecting, and then I receive a coding challenge and I feel like I've never touched a computer. LOL! I get out of those feelings by reminding myself that my learning journey is a marathon and not a sprint, and I'm in the infancy of learning how to become a greater developer.
Hello everyone. I'm Jonathan, and I'm a FSJS TD student. I initially started as FEWD TD in November 2020, but decided to pivot this year to take on the the challenge of learning JS.
You may connect with me on LinkedIn or Twitter.
Here's a link to my profile I created. I'll admit that I haven't updated recently because I've been to busy learning JS.
I'm passionate about American football and the NFL. My favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys. I love all things data analytics.
I have recently started blog to record my journey of pivoting to a developer career. You can go here to view it.

28,389 PointsHi Jonathan! I have been trying to stay active on LinkedIn. I am now following your blog. I will read an article when I have free time and focus.
I'd like to check out one of your projects and provide an endorsement/recommendation on LinkedIn if you think it would be helpful. I saw an article by you of code stuff you are working on. Maybe I will read that one. Talk later.

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 10,838 PointsI believe imposter syndrome is a simple lie we tell ourselves. Strip away enough layers of the onion, and no one knows what's going on. Focus on learning, not success...
I'm Josh. I enjoy learning, and so I do programming as a hobby. I also enjoy reading, video games, spending time with family, and all the other generic stuff.
LinkedIn - Always welcome a connect. Feel free to message, or simply add me to your connections count. My career background is in finance for healthcare and other services.
Like Toye Ogundepo above me. I'm also working on the Full Stack TechDegree. Over halfway there, and plan on working on some pet projects upon completion.

244 Pointsnice one bro. I agree with you that imposter syndrome is a simple lie we tell ourselves, and think if we are experiencing it we can overcome it.
Sarah Amechazurra
853 PointsI do not struggle with imposter syndrome.
I'm Sarah. I'm an academic at heart. A habitual student learning and improving my metacognition. Also, I am interested in improving my understanding of computer science. Data structures and algorithms across multiple programming languages enthralls me.

I am currently working on my first project which is building a portfolio website of all current and future projects. See my linkedin profile for more information.
I'm so thrilled to start sharing more of myself and documenting my journey with all of you.
For the longest time I've had the wrong perceptions on math. I had a math phobia. In the past I dislike math only because I had poor self image in my own abilities to master mathematics and I didn't have the motivation or support from my peers to enable me to be confident in mastering it.
Now my perception has changed. I like that doing math problems creates new neural pathways and expands cognitive capabilities in the brain.
I love the learning process and find joy in the challenge of it.

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 9,765 PointsI do experience imposter syndrome. I don't have a traditional cs background and have built a career out of compliance and audit. Transitioning into a career in web development from a non-traditional background seems daunting, at times, and have wondered about how to deal with imposter syndrome once I land a job.
My name is Toye. I am working on the fullstack techdegree. I find web dev to be challenging and fun, at the same time.

I love to spend time with my wife and daughter. I love to play basketball and hang out with friends.

6,956 PointsHello there, my name is Brock Lynch. I'm 32 years old and I have a lot of hobbies, which mostly revolve around computers or science.
I can definitely say that I have struggled with impostor syndrome. I think it's easy to do with software development because there is an intangible quality to it. One thing that has recently helped me feel like I've achieved something, was working on a proof-of-concept project I dubbed Machine Learning Gloves. It allowed me to marry a lot of my different hobbies and interests together into something tangible I could hold in my hands.
Especially during the pandemic I have been a real homebody and not been getting out too much. But before the pandemic I enjoyed getting out and going to the theatre once in a while.

Nyanko Kamaboko
4,102 PointsI know I am late to the party and this was the thread from last week, but it is relevant to how I have recently felt, so I hope nobody minds my delayed post.
My name is Alexandra (or you can call me Nyanko). Recently I "jumped into the fire" with web development after going on strike as a teacher with my company from unsafe working conditions, then eventually quitting.
I decided to try to utilize my old degree in web development from 2002 and my blend that somehow with my fine arts degree and background. With a 19-year gap from finishing my web development degree to now, at times I felt overwhelmed and incompetent. I feel I am finding my way through it all finally, but it was like trying to find the right hiking trail in complete darkness at times.
Even art, that I had more recent experience in felt difficult and I had lost my way with that too with a complete creative meltdown.
All this while still feeling new in Japan, even though I have lived here for a little more than a year now.
The "imposter syndrome" feelings are much like what Brené Brown talked about in her TedTalks and books. If you haven't seen or read them, I highly recommend them.
Anyways, thank you for giving me a space to share my recent experience even though it is a week late.
I hope to connect with more coding people to feel less alone when I hit difficult points in projects and I hope I can do the same for others who are in a similar situation!
