400 PointsNetworking Thursday – Introduce yourself + share your LinkedIn, projects, and interests!
Hey Treehouse Students!
We're excited to provide space each week for you to come together, connect, and share your projects and interests!
Many of you may have experienced the energy around the Treehouse Festival. The one-on-one networking sessions were a hit! It's always amazing to see y'all forming connections and cheering each other on.
How to participate in Networking Thursday:
- Introduce yourself!
- Share your LinkedIn profile URL for other students to connect to
- Share links and/or screenshots of the projects you've been working on
- Share your interests, hobbies, etc!
Make those connections, support each other, leave some endorsements/recommendations on other student's LinkedIn profiles, lend a helping hand to folx in search of work in tech, and give some positive feedback on fellow student's projects. We're all on this learning journey together!
I'll get things started! 💬
I'm Ryan Mouser, the Content & Community Marketing Specialist here at Treehouse. I've been with Treehouse for over 2 years now and have had the amazing opportunity to wear many different hats. I've been learning with Treehouse since 2015 (you can check out my previous profile here).

Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 18,685 PointsHello Everyone!
I'm Stellah Avanthi, currently a student at Treehouse, I started my Treehouse journey in Nov 2019 for Full-stack Javascript course and as I was very new to coding found it very difficult to understand, then took a break for few months, then back and changed my course to Front-End-Web-Developer, working on Project-6, here is my profile (https://teamtreehouse.com/stellahavanthi).
I am currently looking for work, Earlier I worked for Multinational companies such as (Wipro, Google, Cognizant) as an analyst, and now want to change my career path to coding, and looking for a job.
After joining Treehouse, I am more interested in coding, learning more every day and I feel this is the best thing I have done joining this course.
I love web designing, coding, cooking, and many more.

Gertjan Van der Toorn
Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 15,891 PointsHi Everybody,
Gertjan here, I'm from the Netherlands but living in Singapore with my girlfriend. Nice to read some stories! Currently working as an analyst for an online travel agent that sells flights. Have been working alongside developers all my career and did some basic code writing in one form or another also in the last few years. Always wanted to pick it up myself as I also have a few developer friends and I hear their stories. Now with the global situation taking the plunge to have more redundant skills since my industry is under a lot of pressure.
I'm enjoying Treehouse a lot, the support via slack is great and everybody is really friendly. The course is well thought out and has a nice flow to it that is easy to follow and it motivates me to hit certain markers and amount of video's every day.
My end goal is to finish this course and look for junior jobs and in the end get into full stack development. I enjoy JavaScript a lot but it's a lot to take in at the start.
Shout out to Guil who was almost the only other person (outside work) next to my girlfriend I saw during the lockdown :)
If you want to connect with me then my linkedin is https://www.linkedin.com/in/gvandertoorn/ just add a message you saw this on Treehouse since I got a lot of spam requests lately, so I don't ignore you.
Ave Nurme
20,907 PointsHey everyone!
My name is Ave Nurme, also a happy Treehouse student :)
I joined the #100DaysOfCode challenge via Treehouse in mid-May and I have been on Treehouse watching videos absolutely every single day since then, exploring different courses. I am mostly interested in Python but the challenge has given me the chance to explore other paths here as well. I am also keen on JavaScript but it's probably due to the fact that its syntax resembles Python a lot. A big shout out to Treehouse for the opportunity!
I have also been tweeting about my #100DaysOfCode progress on Twitter daily and having the Treehouse staff there with me supporting me makes a huge difference!
I am currently unemployed as I have set my focus on joining the IT field soon.
Since coding involves a lot of sitting I feel it is important to move your body regularly so I like to cycle.
Here are my profiles:
Feel free to connect with me! :)

Alejandro Acevedo Aguilera
3,391 PointsHello, guys/girls. I'm Alejandro, from Chile. Currently, I work as a data developer for a remote company. I would like to improve my software development skills and start doing full-stack stuff, so I'm enrolled to finish all the JS challenges that are available in Treehouse and use that learning to build my own projects. I already know a bit about data, so I would like to create a front end for some data related applications on the backend and maybe start doing freelance work.
My main tools are Python and SQL, but I wanted to learn Javascript and Scala as well.
If you want to connect, my Linkedin is: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alejandro-cl/

Mahdi Jafari
17,887 PointsHey all,
I am Mahdi from Iran, 23 years old living in KL Malaysia. Currently, I am a Researcher and Developer Assistance at Asia Pacific University.
I got a degree in software engineering but honestly, all I know is from TreeHouse. Because all the things that I learned from my degree were useless in the industry. During my degree, I had to work to make up all the money that I spend on clubs and Beer ;).
I worked as : -System Integrator and Software Developer at Noxel for 4 years(Smart Home) -Researcher & Developer Assistance at Asia Pacific University 2 years
I got a fully-funded scholarship from Asia Pacific University to study my master's in Data Science & Bussines Analytics so I'm keeping my self busy with studying and R&D in there.
Since I got into the master of Data Science trying to learn python more and I just love this language.;)) easy to read and easy to implement and a wide variety of usage. ;))
