I'm staying connected and networking by creating a blog, however, with working full-time and studying FSJS I've found it challenging to update it frequently. I plan to make an effort to sign-up for online meet-ups, so please let me know if you're aware of any meet-ups geared to coding newbies.

Hi all. Having a blast with the React Unit on the FullStack JavaScript techdegree. Per my bio, I'm a finance guy, happy in my career, and looking to do programming on the side as my hobby. Just like Jonathan Tucker, I work full-time, and have dabbled with coding before.

I've tried learning GoLang and Python on my own, and done a few other small things, but TeamTreeHouse keeps me honest and incentivized. I'm not going to stop paying for this until it's done, and if I'm not doing it, it's burning a $$$ hole in my wallet every month. :)

I recently changed up my website from being a GitHub Pages to Heroku back-end, but I am seeing some problems with that, and it was more for fun than for the actual need of the use case. So, I'll post my personal page next time once that's rectified somehow.

So I've been watching the IG stories of successful females in STEM talk about networking via Instagram and getting job offers from networking on the platform. I just recently reached out to a SWE at Google and introduced myself and emphasized that working at Google is my dream job. I've been networking through Instagram. I also have a friend that offered to send her my resume to work at her company through instagram. I find that networking through instagram to be an excellent option other than Networking Thursdays and Linkedin. I'm Sarah. I'm an academic at heart. A habitual student learning and improving my metacognition. Also, I am interested in improving my understanding of computer science. Data structures and algorithms across multiple programming languages enthralls me.

For the longest time I've had the wrong perceptions on math. I had a math phobia. In the past I dislike math only because I had poor self image in my own abilities to master mathematics and I didn't have the motivation or support from my peers to enable me to be confident in mastering it.

Now my perception has changed. I like that doing math problems creates new neural pathways and expands cognitive capabilities in the brain.

I love the learning process and find joy in the challenge of it.
