For the longest time I've had the wrong perceptions on math. I had a math phobia. In the past I dislike math only because I had poor self image in my own abilities to master mathematics and I didn't have the motivation or support from my peers to enable me to be confident in mastering it.

Now my perception has changed. I like that doing math problems creates new neural pathways and expands cognitive capabilities in the brain.

I love the learning process and find joy in the challenge of it.

Hello everyone!

I am a self taught developer. I have been learning after work (pre-covid) and any time I can squeeze in between. I have freelanced a little bit in frontend development, participated in open source code, and I am currently in a software engineering fellowship.

It is never too late to start learning, and please don't ever feel discouraged! I started to learn how to code at the age of 36. Now I am 38 years old and I am currently in my software engineering fellowship. The best way to get started is of course finding open source projects and building your own projects... because I did that, I was accepted into my current program. In the early stages I was scared, but I jumped in and learned as much as I could as fast I could.

I came to Treehouse to refine my JavaScript skills. I highly recommend Treehouse for JavaScript... it is hands down the best resource I have encountered, or at least the best for me, as I have tried many JavaScript resources.

Currently I am refining my JavaScript skills and learning Python on TreeHouse.... I find Python to be easy because it has similar concepts as JavaScript.

Hi everyone! I am Jason. I am a grad of one TD FEWD. A consistent studier and builder. I have reached a point that I do not know exactly what to do as I have had my struggles understanding certain concepts such as installing dependencies, what makes a framework and all this other stuff that I get hung up on. After so much struggling, I have decided to start blogging about it. It's a bit of an obstacle course the first page but hopefully it is coherent and able to be followed. By the third page I am starting to follow Andrew Chalkley through this course called Express basics here is the corresponding video. So if you don't want your head hurt, and you are interested, my iteration of this teaching will start to follow andrew on Blog 2 and a half lol.

I decided to start making my own blog because I couldn't get Hashnode to publish and Treehouse has taught me this skill so I just said "well, If HASHNODE can't find it to publish, then I will" so as I am re-iterating through and starting fresh some learnings, it will force me to really engage with the content by writing out the words of the instructions and also having to add code blocks and style them slows me down enough to be kind of reading over what I am styling out...if that makes sense to y'all. All the while, I will be strengthening my skills in CSS and HTML because eventually I will want to REALLY show this (whatever it is) to somebody that may want to know what it is that I know and I will say, "I made a comprehensive walk-through blog on all of my Treehouse courses that I found difficult to understand, thus solidifying my knowledge in them" and you can find that here,here and here ...something like that. Oh btw this is what the natural progression in my journey with #100Daysofcode of which I am currently working on the aforestated project and on my 58th day!

My proudest accomplishment through all this is to just look at my Treehouse Profile https://teamtreehouse.com/jdnutt and see All the different technologies ( I thought it would have been the Tech Degree) that all come with a bit of struggle and even a little sorrow sometimes but looking at my board helps me to say "well... If I made it through that one, I can get this other one right?" Anyways, I am a student learning new things and I hope you are too. I'm John Ruggles. I'm a higher education professional with expertise in fine art studio techniques, multi-modal methodology, project development, and community engagement. I recently started exploring prop building & graphic design for film.

However, I've been on a sort of sabbatical from academia for a while now, and mostly do freelance design work and elder care for my Abuela. She just turned 99!

I'm currently working on helping an arts and music/community focused LLC get up and running, a magic mirror build with a raspberry pi 4, some big abstract paintings, and a lot of prop builds! In between all that I'm currently pursuing the UX Design Techdegree here at Treehouse.

My other hobbies include gardening, playing ice hockey, birdwatching, carving wooden spoons, and spoiling my cat.

Hello everyone, my name is Cisco Rendon, I am from New York City. Second time posting on the community form in a very long time. I am an entrepreneur based in NYC, started learning in 2013 but I have taken time off from learning. I am constantly refining my craft with newer techniques and languages. Aside from web development, I am a man of many crafts. I am IT Associate as well and I also work part time with a small business assisting them in their needs from AP/Purchasing to doing installs. The city of hustlers, that is what New York City is all about. Part of my self motivated career move in the IT world is fixing broken computers and refurbishing them to resell. In a tech age, we are all being taught to code but not to build or fix.

I started with Team Treehouse when they were teaching WordPress and it's basic foundation was learning HTML/CSS. I could not learn PHP / JS without knowing a basic understanding of the foundation all web pages and apps are built on and I strongly believe efore jumping onto any course, learn the strong foundation of the web. I built a sample site with strong javascript techniques but if you were to look at the foundation of the site, you will see that HTML/CSS is a powerful basic language to understand first. The best coding language to learn first is whatever you are interested in learning. Don't let anyone dissuade you from your coding passion. If your jam is JavaScript, then go for it. If you fashion yourself a pythonista then go do that. Obsessed with all things front-end? Then make learning front-end your life's purpose to master all of its aesthetic wonders. It's your life, your career and your passion. You do you!
