I'm Ryan Mouser, the Content & Community Marketing Specialist here at Treehouse. My pronouns are he/him. I was 15 years old when I started learning to code in PHP for a popular text-based MMORPG game. I've been with Treehouse for over 2 years now and have had the amazing opportunity to wear many different hats. I've been learning with Treehouse since 2015 (you can check out my previous profile here).
Currently, I'm working alongside our world-class team on some exciting opportunities to bring the Treehouse Community closer together. Stay tuned! š
Outside of Treehouse, I have the joy of living life with my incredible wife, our 3 awesome kids, and our 2 cat furbabies. We love to make music, garden, cook, play games, and watch fun TV.
My favorite thing about learning to code is the ability to be creative, analytical, and technical all at once to create a vision. It's super rewarding when new concepts are understood and code runs smoothly (or bugs are fixed!)
You can connect with me on LinkedIn here. Looking forward to connecting with y'all!
Happy networking! :)

400 PointsHey Timothy Aguirre! Thanks for asking. I worked on an MMORPG titled "Torn".
Before Treehouse, I was a Professional Online Moderator, Moderation Manager, and Content Specialist. My wife and I also teach voice and had a brick and mortar vocal and recording studio for many years.
I joined the Treehouse team after pursuing a Podcast Producer role at the end of 2017 which was being promoted on a tweet by our CEO, Ryan Carson. :)

2.Hello everyone. I'm Jonathan and a FEWD TD student since 11/16/20. I recently completed a graduate degree in ISM with a specialization in Business Intelligence Tools. From that experience, I realized that I need to know how to code. I work full time and father to two great kids so life keeps me busy, but I love it.

Jonathan Tucker
Ubora | Web Development Techdegree Student 16,987 PointsHey Timothy Aguirre. You are correct. After dabbling with big data in my graduate degree I realized that I needed coding knowledge but not ready to take on Python. Decided to to start from the bottom with FEWD, then JS and then Python. I enjoy coding but Dara sciences is my true passion.

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 651 Pointswhat i like about coding is a mixed answer. I love the challenge and the creativity. Also i dont always love that stuff. Sometimes i wish my code was as smooth as i thought it. Its a complicated relationship we have!
My name is chris and i'm from PA.
I have so many hobbies from gaming, guns to Bioengineering. I have a full streaming and podcast set up as well as a Bio lab. I love to learn and explore.

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 651 Pointsi have been coding for years on and off. I was with Treehouse back when they first launched. No lie, thi is my 5th account starting over because i learn and stop then forget it all. so here i am. This is the first time with the TD.
Timothy Aguirre
Courses Plus Student 11,145 Points@christopher abjornson Yea, I hate and love coding too. When things are working correctly, you feel like a great pro. When things are breaking and are barely functioning, you feel like the dumbest person in the world and want to rethink your whole life. Also, Dope, you got a Quest 2. I am a big VR enthusiast. I own the valve index, the first oculus quest, and have an old window mixed headset.

My name is Jason Kampf and I am from North Idaho.
My main interests are homebrewing, and spending time with my wife and two kids. I was pretty heavily into photograpy in the past, and once I have more time available I would like to eventually get back into it a bit more.

5.) I love playing video games, exercising, listening/creating music, reading books, and now coding.
Timothy Aguirre
Courses Plus Student 11,145 PointsSo you finished your bachelors in Biology. Are you trying to somehow combine career knowledge in the future or are you all about coding now and biology was just a stepping stone?
LaMonne Hayes
3,016 PointsMy initial goal was to go to Medical School, but when I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and then later HHT, I decided to step away from medicine and pursue a career that allows me to be more flexible. But using my Biology background for coding is not something I thought about, I'm going to do some research in how I can combine the two fields. Thank you.

What kind of software do you use in designing stuff? Did you design and develop your website?
I like it, and it's great to see another Seatown person here :)

I really liked your website! You are very talented! I am a Front End Web Developer myself and I am currently looking for work. I am also currently studying UX design with Treehouse too. There is going to be a Treehouse Festival going on next week that starts on Monday. You should attend that if you have time. It should be a lot of fun!

Timothy Aguirre
Courses Plus Student 11,145 PointsWhat's your favorite thing about learning to code?
My favorite thing about coding is learning to shape an idea into a project. It's hard to come up with something original or exciting sometimes. But when you do, it makes all the work you did to learn the syntax, API, and framework you studied worth it.
Introduce yourself!
I'm Tim Aguirre. I am an inspiring Developer learning the tricks of the trade one step at a time.
Treehouse has always been one of my primary resources to learn as I will always love how their lessons focus on projects compared to other resources that focus on language syntax with no context.
I started learning development and coding in 2013, where I got my first job in Quality Assurance Testing. While I was there, I decided to learn the basics of Html, Javascript, and CSS. In 2017 I started online school with WGU and Graduated with my bachelor's in software development in Oct 2020.
Currently, in the unemployed life, looking for new opportunities. So I can use my new found expensive piece of paper. Until then, will keep my learning focus up to defeat the constant imposter syndrome running through my mind.
Share your LinkedIn profile URL for other students to connect to
Let me know how your journey is going here. It's always great to connect with people who are learning and progressing, especially in this isolated COVID environment. And of course, if you have any opportunities you think I might be a good fit for, hit me up.
Share links and/or screenshots of the projects you've been working on
Like any professional dev, I have my git hub with my projects I work on here.
I also released my first android app in the Android Play Store here. Its a pretty straightforward app to help players of a pc game called phasmaphobia. But I'm pretty proud of it and going through the app store release process.
I'm now focused on trying to learn to react Native so that I can develop for iPhone and Android at the same time.
Share your interests, hobbies, etc!
Like any proper adult, I spend my time enjoying TV shows, movies, and video games when I'm not working. And when I'm not doing that, I try to work on other content creation, including playing some new hype on twitch or creating a fun vlog video for youtube or anything in between.
Chat with other students here by responding to their posts!
General question for everyone.
What career focus do you want to pursue in coding?
My main focus right now is Mobile development. I love making mobile apps because everyone has a phone but not everyone has a computer and I believe the access to mobile apps is so much simpler.

Treehouse Project Reviewer1) Answer the icebreaker activity ā What's your favorite thing about learning to code? Learning to code has allowed me to invest in myself, by using the resources that Treehouse and others have provided me. It's taken me from being on a 9-5 grind of work I didn't enjoy, to a career where I can use creativity to explore problems and solve in different ways and collaborate with other engineers to figure out solutions to issues that aren't always straight forward.
2) Introduce yourself! I'm Steven, I went through the FSJS tech degree and graduated back in December 2018 (That seems so long ago...), through the TAP program I got an internship at Vacasa where I've thrived, even with Covid-19 rearing it's ugly head.
3) Share your LinkedIn profile URL for other students to connect to: https://www.linkedin.com/in/steven-weeks-9996aa143/
4) Share links and/or screenshots of the projects you've been working on: I would, but I keep most of my coding strictly at work and They'd likely not appreciate my sharing of that. But I can tell you that I recently had to learn how to deal with SOAP endpoints and parsing through strings of XML to make updates to employees as part of a sync between a new HRIS and our inhouse monolith.
5) Share your interests, hobbies, etc! I'm usually gaming, walking or watching Netflix in my off time. Listening to Dark Synthwave during work is a hobby, I suppose.
