15,200 PointsNeeding some clarification on the rem scale...
Okay, I feel like I'm missing something very obvious here, but I'm a little unclear as to the scaling of rem units as presented by Mattox in this video. He says that the "root" em size for most browsers is equal to 16px, yes?
And then proceeds to explain that setting a size of 1.25rem is equal to 24px?
Huh?!
My question is, how and why? Wouldn't 1.25rem still be equal to 20px? Any clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

19,424 PointsI think he just misspoke on that one. 1.25 * 16 px = 20 px, like you said, not 24 px. Also, right after that he says 3rem = 48 px (which is indeed 3 * 16 px). So I wouldn't worry about it too much - you're right about the 20px, and CSS will also figure it out correctly! :-)

15,200 PointsThanks Louise! I'm glad it was just a proverbial typo; I was worried that I was double-extra-especially losing my mind for a minute. I appreciate your time!

19,424 PointsNo worries - glad to reassure you that you are not losing your marbles... at least, not because of this! :-)
