you have done the first part of the question correct(these answers are not indented correctly because of where you put the answers) :

def add(num1, num2):

return num1 + num2

the second part:

def add(num1, num2) :

return float(num1) + float(num2)

the third part:

def add(num1, num2) :

try:

    return float(num1) + float(num2)

except ValueError:

    return None
