Need Help!

I write code on Exception. Not sure where it went wrong. Couldn't find out the error. Please help me in finding out where I go wrong.

GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;
  private int lapsDriven;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }
  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return barCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return MAX_BARS == barCount;
  }

  public void drive() {
    drive(40);
    if(barCount<laps)
    {
      throw new IllegalArgumentException("Laps are still there!!");
    }
    barCount = lapsDriven;
  }
  }

  public void drive(int laps) {
    lapsDriven += laps;
    barCount -= laps;
}

Hi Schwartz,

You're so close. Your exception handler is written correctly. If you move it into the method that's doing the work of incrementing the lapsDriven and barCount variables, it should pass. Also, you don't want to set barCount = lapsDriven. You're decrementing correctly in the second method, so incorporate that line of code into your exception handler. Hope this helps!
