Python Python Basics (2015) Logic in Python Try and Except

NameError: name 'add' is not defined. Help.

My code seems to be correct but I am getting the error message NameError: name 'add' is not defined.

trial.py 
def add(x,y):
  try:
    return (float(x)+float(y))
  except valueError:
    return None
  else:
    return x + y

The error statement is misleading. The error is a typo in the exception name. The 'V' should be capitalized in ValueError.
