2,510 Points%n no longer functioning, instead /n. Want to fully understand.
In this course we changed from importing java.io and instead of using console.printf to display text we are using System.out.println etc.
I am assuming that %n for a new line isn't working because of that. If I am correct or not I still would like to understand why there's a discrepancy at all? I remember learning from another video that %n is used in Linux and other languages more commonly? If that's the case why doesn't Java support its use out of the box?
I guess generally I would like to know why a language would settle on one version over another. I was going to practice using %n, because to my newbie brain it sounded like it would have wider application. But now I'm thinking that it would be bad practice if I need to import a package everytime I write a piece of code.
Help me understand if this is good thinking or not, or what you would do. Thank you in advance.
